About Hope Grows
Hope Grows is the brainchild of Robert Czaplicki. A few years ago Robert had become clean from over a decade of heroin abuse. He was clean, but not satisfied. He became well and whole by starting a garden at first. As the plants grew, he became more invested in their success, and cared less and less about drugs. He didn't stop there though. He wanted to help those like him; those with addction issues, with mental health issues, and those with food scarcity. With those community members in mind, he began building a place on 40 acres of off grid land in rural Navajo County, Arizona.
The idea was simple. Grow food for hungry people, but also provide a space for those that need one to work on their art, want to learn about growing food, or just enjoy the beautiful Arizona desert.
It becomes a win-win situation. It is our desire that at the end of their stay, our residents and visitors will have indeed grown hope in themselves.
